BSides Ottawa

Call for Presentations.

We want you to help us make BSides Ottawa 2017 the best year ever! As with our new venue, we are looking for fresh ideas, research and innovation that will simply blow our minds.

If you are interested in donning your tin foil hat and rocking our stage this year, please submit a 2-3 paragraph summary of your talk to no later than September 1, 2017.

This Year's Topics

We would like to note that topics of interest do not necessarily have to be focused on a specific security domain. They can also help the community to better understand what is going on around us and the challenges presented to government, industry and academia at home and abroad in the security industry.

Here are just a few ideas to fire up the circuits...

  • Internet of Things (IoT)
  • Cryptocurrency / Blockchain
  • Digital Privacy and Open Access
  • Vulnerability Disclosure
  • Mandatory Breach Notification
  • Canada's Anti-Spam Law (CASL)
  • Preparing NextGen Professionals
  • Fun War Stories
  • Attack and Defence Strategies
  • Network Security Monitoring
  • Digital Forensics
  • Malware Analysis
  • WebApp Security
  • ISO/IEC 27001 and Cyber Essentials
